Meet Our Pastor

Our staff recognizes the authority of God, and realize we serve under the Chief Shepherd, Jesus Christ. We desire to devote ourselves to prayer and to the ministry of the Word. Our passion and goal is to equip the believers for the work of the ministry until we all attain maturity in the fullness of Christ. 

Derrell has been preaching at Central since March of 2013. He received his call to ministry when he was 13 years old at a week of church camp. After graduating high school, Derrell entered St. Louis Christian College, graduating in 1977.

He was ordained to ministry by the Carlyle Christian Church in April 1978. He has been in ministry for over 45 years. Serving churches in Illinois, Massachusetts, and Missouri.

Derrell has been married to Cindee since June 1978. They have three married children and six grandchildren. Derrell believes strongly in the inerrancy of God’s Word. It is the source of his preaching and teaching. His favorite pastimes are fly fishing, regular fishing, and watching sports he used to play.
